Planning your wedding can be a stressful time. Of course everyone wants to have everything perfect for their big wedding day! Finding the perfect dress, wedding cake, flowers, food, bridesmaids, and getting a tan is in the long list of things to do before the big day comes. As females, there is a lot of pressure to look your best for your wedding day including being as skinny as can be. Eating healthy and getting fit should be something you do everyday of the year regardless of the new ring on you finger. However, starting today can only improve your health, just remember to keep up on these after your big day. As Registered Dietitian, I hope your body is healthy, fit & happy for your Big Day so I've have written with The I Do's & I Don't for your Wedding Day! This is a list of ideas to help you be fit, healthy and skinny for your big day.
The I do’s & I don’t of getting fit for your Wedding Day!
I do promise to eat 5 fruits & veggies every day.
Getting your fruits and vegetables is critical for being healthy & fit for your wedding day. Not only will these give you more vitamin & minerals but they can also help you lose weight. Fruits & Veggies are nutrient dense but have very few calories. The fiber in fruits & veggies will help you you stay full therefore helping you eat less.
I do promise to eat fiber and protein with each snack.
Fiber & Protein both help with fullness. Snacking can also help boost your metabolism.
I do promise to eat whole grains.
Make at least half of your grains whole or more. Whole grains have more fiber, and nutrients!
I do promise to NOT to try any FAD diets!
FAD diets can be harmful and decrease your metabolism. Don't fall for these!
I do promise to exercise daily.
American Heart Association recommends 30-60 minutes on most days of the week! Exercise is the key to weight loss.
I do promise to NOT skip meals!
Skipping meals decreases your metabolism and can also cause overeating later on.
I do promise to love my body whatever the size & shape.
We don't all fit into a size 6 shoe, so why should we all fit into a size 2 dress???? We are all different and that makes us unique and beautiful. We all have a different genetic blueprint. Who can say if brown hair is prettier than blond? Be happy to be who you are! Love your body and treat it well. Get healthy and fit for yourself and to be the best you possible.
