Homemade Wheat Tortillas (makes 8)
These are amazing......and have less oil then most tortilla recipes. Definitely a favorite recipe!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 -3 cups whole-wheat flour
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
Directions:
In a mixer with dough hook (or by hand) mix all ingredients together and knead for about 6 minutes.
Divide dough into 8 equal sections.
Use rolling pin (or cup) to roll out each piece until flattened as thin as possible about 8 to 10 inches. Use excess flour to keep tortillas from sticking but try not to use too much.
Heat skillet and cook each side of the flattened uncooked tortilla one at a time.
These are amazing and you can refrigerate or freeze them for later use.
Try them with the Cilantro Lovers Chicken Quesadillas.
