So I've been trying to come up with some fun family night activities that involve some exercise and healthy treat options. My husband has usually worked all day on a Monday so he likes to get in some exercise. We always have to have a Family Home Evening treat and although I love treats it is not always good for my waist line. So here a some fun ideas for activities to get you moving and some healthier treats to go along with them.
Activity 1: Go hiking (find a great hiking trail and go enjoy nature), Sing: For the Beauty of the Earth or My Heavenly Father Loves Me, Talk about how blessed we are for all of God's creations and read the first chapter in Genesis!
Treat 1: Smoothies.....try adding in carrots and spinach (you won't even taste them). Here is a website that has some great smoothie ideas that are healthy and quick:

Activity 2: Picnic in the park, design an obstacle course on the playground and race through it, talk about overcoming obstacles, staying on the straight and narrow path, and enduring to the end. Sing Press Forward Saints.
Treat 2: Try these Real Fruit Popsicles you will need to make them ahead of time to allow them to freeze or go get low-fat frozen yogurt from Maverick!
Activity 3: Go to the temple grounds and walk around them, Sing I love to see the temple. Talk about the importance of temples. Get each child a temple picture for their room.
Treat 3: Make these Healthier Gorilla Poops ahead of time for a great treat with fiber!
Activity 4: Fall activity, carve pumpkins and have relays (caterpillar, crab crawl, bear crawl, wheel barrow). Talk about

Activity 5: Biking together as a family, have everyone stick together. Sing Families Can be Together Forever. Talk about how your family can help you get through any challenge.

Activity 6: Service FHE. Find someone in the ward or neighborhood that needs something done. If no one needs anything....visit your local food pantry and ask if you can help. Talk about the importance of service and read about service in Mosiah.

Activity 7: Play Charades. Act out stories from the Book of Mormon, read the scripture after someone has guessed the story. Sing Book of Mormon Stories. Talk about the importance of reading your scriptures and learning from them.

Activity 8: Go swimming. Read the story about Jonas and the Whale. Talk about the importance of following God' will and Choosing the Right. Sing Choose the Right.

Activity 9: Clean house, plant flowers, or weed your garden. Talk about the importance of working hard and being diligent. Sing Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel. Talk about the pioneers and read pioneers stories.

Activity 10: Tree of Life (inspired by a crazy date one of my roommates went on), read Lehi's dream about the tree of life. Blind fold your children and lead them through the house, have them sing Hold to the Rod. Have them come to the kitchen where the fruit kabobs will be:) Take some fruit kabobs to the neighbors!
