I've come up with some fun tips to beat the July heat wave.
Make Fruit Popsicles in ice cube trays!
Try frozen yogurt covered blueberries, pretzels, and frozen peanut butter covered bananas. This is easy you just dip the item in yogurt or peanut butter and freeze them on cookie trays. Once they are frozen you can then but them in baggies or smaller containers.
Work out in the morning. This can be a hard one but you have got to get out of bed.!!! The summer heat can be draining and it doesn't cool off until 8 or 9. Plus...who wants to work out after a long day of work or being a mom???
Take a swim. Find a friend with a pool or even just run through the sprinklers. Being in the sun can be fun and you'll be getting your Vitamin D. Just don't go too long without sunscreen unless you want a painful sunburn!
Water Fight. This is one of my favorite summer time activities...and kids love it!
Make cool salads for dinner. Try making meals that you don't have to cook with try eatingwell.com for some delicious cool summer salads.
Crockpot Dinners. Crock pots heat up your house a lot less than the oven so experiment with some good crockpot recipes.
Maverick Frozen Yogurt. You've got to go try all the different flavors they have at Maverick....maybe for FHE on hot days!
Stay Hydrated. Eat lots of fruits and veggies that have water in them like Cantaloupe, Watermelon, and Cucumbers etc. And also be sipping your water bottle throughout the day. Don't forget to take it with you everywhere you go! Abandon your diet sodas for good old fashioned water!
